Helping Others Achieve Power and Equity (HOAPE) is a coalition spearheaded by four formerly incarcerated Black women who lead Georgia-based organizations addressing issues with mass incarceration.
HOAPE empowers communities to build enduring, sustainable knowledge and prosperity. HOAPE is dedicated to creating a more equitable, just, and inclusive Georgia where every individual's rights are protected and opportunities for growth are accessible to all. Meet the Ladies of HOAPE!
HOAPE's mission is to see all justice impacted Georgians restored to active, productive, and civically engaged members of their communities by building collective power, enhancing voter engagement, increasing civic participation and achieving equity through grassroots mobilization, advocacy, voter education, outreach and engagement.
HOAPE’s vision is that our communities will become places where every citizen is supported in building enduring and sustainable knowledge needed to foster lasting power and prosperity within their communities through self-advocacy, self-sufficiency, active civic participation, community service and mentorship.
We envision communities that are characterized by inclusivity, restoration, and strong support for principles of social justice, equity, economic prosperity, and a focus on the well-being of those affected by a conviction history.
